"You’re such a tease,” he sighed,
as if his only hope and desire was found out to all be a scam.
“I thought boys like you like a little challenge,” I countered,
with an eyebrow raise and edgy tone.
“Well maybe we do like a little bit of a chase,” he admitted,
“But it seems like you’ve been sprinting away from me,
and whenever I try to catch up to you,
whenever I think I’ve finally got you,
that you’ve finally let me in,
you escape from in-between my fingers,
it’s like I’m trying to catch a dream.”
he cupped my face in the palms of his hands,
leaned in and rested his forehead against mine,
“Why won’t you let yourself be my reality?” he asked, in a gentle whisper.
I closed my eyes
and this time,
I was the one sighing,
“Because nightmares can be dreams too, darling.
And more often than not,
they become our reality as well."
